Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
