Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after March of the previous year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour title, took control to force a third set.

Moutet rescued four early break points in a tight final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
